This video has www.witness.org co-produced by Memorial Human Rights Center and a witness (2007). "Counter-terrorism operations" conducted by military and security forces in Chechnya since 1999 in the enforced disappearance of more than 3000 people are still missing out. Due to the lack of proper investigation and prosecution, the problem has spread to neighboring republics of North Caucasus. MISSING LIVES examines the culture of impunity surrounding these abductionsdisappeared and the damage in the lives of people whose relatives did. The video provides an overview of the struggle of families trying to be part of the system of lawlessness to seek information and redress for crack crimes of enforced disappearance killings, torture and extrajudicial executions.
